5 Reasons to Live in Wyndham Vale

When you’re looking to buy your first home, a sense of community, nature, connectivity, convenience and affordability are likely high up on your ‘location, location, location’ wish list. We think Wyndham Vale fits the bill!

Community

Wyndham Vale’s new residents will find plenty of opportunity to become an active part of the community. The Iramoo and Wunggurrwil Dhurrung (brand new!) Community Centres provide places to gather, to learn, and to support new mums and bubs in particular. Werribee’s Community Garden is thriving in terms of both plant life and neighbourly vibes. But if you’re not a green thumb, Wyndham City’s volunteer directory has plenty of local ways to get involved, meet people and feel good. Meanwhile, Wyndham Together is a vibrant online resource for neighbourhood events; both online and happening in real life.

Nature

The vision for Wyndham Vale is one of developing a leafy suburb with tree-lined streets and plenty of fresh air. Jubilee itself will have 77 hectares of open space and the chance for riverside relaxation; not to forget that every home will be a 400 metre stroll – or less – from a local park. But it’s also a hub from which to escape to nature. From Wyndham Vale you have easy access to the panoramic vistas of the You Yangs national park, a large-scale local park in President’s Park with its own adventure playground, and the easy walks (while bird-spotting) of Werribee River Park. If you do like to be beside the seaside, Campbell’s Cove is a nearby beach option and coastal road-trips are made simple with the Bellarine Peninsula, Torquay and the Great Ocean Road all located on this side of town.

Connectivity

Boasting a handful of nearby train stations, Wyndham Vale is highly connected in terms of public transport. Wyndham Vale train station and the future Tarneit West station are closely located at either end of Jubilee – it’s only 35 minute commute to the CBD! Wyndham station also connects you in a streamlined fashion to Geelong or even Warnambool. Meanwhile bustling, established, regional hubs like Werribee and Ballarat are easy to explore from here by car. Our very own PTV bus route 191 takes you straight from Jubilee at Anniversary Ave/Stanmore Cres to both Wyndham Vale and Werribee train stations. Plus, there’s no need to cross the city to get to either Avalon (under 30 minutes away) or Melbourne Airport for your next getaway.

Convenience

As an ongoing developing and trending suburb, Wyndham Vale is already surrounded by plenty of schools; there are around 20 to choose from at a range of levels! Plus, child care, kinder, primary and secondary school options will all be available right within the Jubilee estate. For shopping, your everyday go-tos are Wyndham Vale Central or just over the road for your convenience is Manor Lakes. In the not-so-distant future, a multi-million dollar marketplace-style ‘Neighbourhood Centre’ will include an IGA supermarket and specialty shops, as well as the future 6.6 hectare town centre coming to Jubilee. When it comes to good health, Club Jubilee One: Jubilee Aquatic Centre looks after you as a resident’s indoor water park with pools and a gym, while the future Club Jubilee Two: Jubilee Wellness Centre focuses more on wellness and relaxation. And, from golf, polo and equestrian to softball, AFL and soccer, there is a local sports club to suit your fitness style.

Affordability

Compared to suburbs located the same distance from the city in other directions, Wyndham Vale comes out on top price-wise. It’s comparable to spots like Lysterfield (current median house price: $1,050,000), Chirnside Park ($756,500) or Narre Warren North ($1,247,500). Yet Wyndham Vale’s median house price is currently only $485,000 according to realestate.com.au. At Jubilee, three-bedroom, two-bathroom house and land packages start from just $406,900*. Imagine what you could do when saving hundreds of thousands of dollars upfront? Plus, there is far more choice in terms of both house and land options and vacant land lots on which to build upon in Wyndham Vale than there are in more established suburbs. You can take your pick!
