So, you’re considering buying your first home? Well luckily for you, you’ve come to the right place!

Buying your first home is an exciting time. The same as any other new experience, there comes a lot to learn.

At Jubilee, we’ll help make the process of buying your first home as smooth (and fun!) as possible. If you’d like to know more, download Oliver Hume’s First Home Buyers Masterclass Series.

Step 1 – Buying or Building

Let’s take a look at three of the ways in which you can move into a brand-new home to see which option might work best for you and your family.

1. Buy a block of land

Find a block that suits your preferred home style, budget and orientation. This enables you to choose your own builder and make all of the relevant decisions along the way.

Step 2 – Grants

As a first home buyer, what you really need to know is what grants are available to you.

First Home Owner Grant in Victoria

If you’re a first-time buyer, you might be eligible for the government’s First Home Owner Grant. The grant is worth $10,000 for homes that are valued at up to $750,000.

HomeBuilder Grant

The HomeBuilder grant has been extended until March 31st 2021, giving you more time to take advantage of the great incentives still available.

Stamp Duty Savings

When you buy a property in Victoria, you must pay a land transfer (stamp) duty to the Government on your purchase. As a first home buyer, you may be eligible for a duty exemption or concession.
