Rain, hail or shine there are always plenty of ways to entertain the whole family in
and around Wyndham Vale. Here are just a few of our favourite places for the
young and young-at-heart to visit.
Home to both African and Australian wildlife, a visit to the open range zoo is more
like going on safari than visiting a traditional zoo.
Wander the African river route where you can encounter lazy lions, gorillas and
wild hippos yawning. Hop on a free bus ride across the savannah through herds of
giraffe, bison and curly-horned “addax” antelope. Or take the Australian route to
get up close to Mountain Pygmy-possums, rare orange-bellied parrots and
everyone’s favourite koalas.
Your family could even camp here overnight with the sounds of hungry beasts
calling out across sunrise plains acting as your alarm clock.
Don’t forget that children under 16 receive FREE entry on weekends, Victorian
public holidays and Victorian Government school holidays.
Club Jubilee One is Australia’s first private indoor water park – and it’s for residents
of Jubilee and their guests! This aquatic centre has a leisure pool, a 25-metre lap
pool, waterslides, and a Junior Fun zone featuring interactive water elements and
a safe playground for little ones. And the best part is that it’s indoors so you can
make a splash all year round.
One of the benefits of living in Wyndham Vale is having the Princes Freeway right
nearby to provide an easy connection to city attractions. So it’s simple to take the
whole family to Sealife in Melbourne on the weekend.
Here, you can watch cheeky penguins in their icy playground, see sharks swim
overhead or take in a 4D movie. You could also meet Pinjarra – he’s a 55-year-old
Saltwater croc who weighs over 750kgs and is over 5 metres long!
This vibrant play centre is designed for babies, toddlers and kids up to 8 years old
and focuses on sensory experiences. They can slip down an inflatable slide, jump
into ball pits and ride the mini merry-go-round. The Bumblebeez café on site also
offers tasty bites – with some handy healthy options on the menu. Plus there’s
good, budget-friendly coffee for grown-ups who need an afternoon pick-me-up.
