FREE SCHOOL READINESS TALK

When & Where: St John Ambulance Hall, 49 College Road, Werribee. 4 August 07:00PM until 08:30PM

What’s on: This free information session is designed for parents of children who are participating in their preschool year. The session will provide parents with information regarding the skills that are necessary for their child to have a successful beginning to learning.
The session will cover the following:
-Parents role in promoting speech and language development
-How to assist and promote early literacy skills
-Identifying challenges, delays and difficulties
-When to seek help and where to go
The session will be run by two highly experienced speech pathologists who have worked extensively in educational contexts for over 30 years.

SONS OF THE WEST MAIN SEASON

When & Where: Werribee Bowls Club, 239 Watton Street, Werribee

What’s on: Sons of the West is a FREE men’s health and fitness program for men aged 18 and over living, working and recreating in Victoria’s west. Delivered in partnership with Western Bulldogs and Wyndham City, the 10 week program aims to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of men in the West through a series of workshops, presentations, events and experiences.
The sessions are highly interactive. You will get the chance to hear about a number of interesting and relevant topics that affect men and their families. One week you will be hearing from Exercise scientists, the next you will be making fresh healthy meals in an interactive cooking class. No session is the same! Here you will have the chance to increase your fitness, play games, try new activities and have a laugh with your mates.

TRAVEL TO THE DOCKLANDS FOR WINTER FIREWORKS

When & Where: Wyndham Harbour, Friday 22 Jul 2016 – Friday 26 Aug 2016

What’s on: Looking for something special to do on Fridays through Winter? Travel to the Docklands Winter Fireworks Friday nights 22 July to 26 August.

Travelling across the bay on the Port Phillip Ferry from Wyndham Harbour departing at 4.30pm arriving at the Docklands 5.38pm for the commencement of the Entertainment at 6.30pm see the fireworks at 7.30pm.

MILITARY RE-ENACTMENT

When & Where:  Sunday 14 Aug 2016, 9:30am – 3:30pm. Restoration hangar, corner Farm Rd and Princes Highway, Werribee

What’s on: The Society will present uniforms, vehicles and a bivouac depicting military life.

They will fire their cannon in the adjacent paddock.

The Liberator group will provide guided tours of the restoration, run the Pratt & Whitney 1830 radial engine and run various components of the aircraft.
